I have a 95 Dodge Ram that likes to stall out when I am at a stop light or backing out on an incline. Also, the engine will feel like it is struggling sometimes, and then kind of buck and kick back in (while driving) I was wondering where the IAC is on this truck and if a novice could realistically replace or check for problems. The check engine light keeps coming on and I have no one to help me. I need help!!!!!!!!!

iwould start with cleaning the throtal body with air intake cleaner the iac will be bolted to the throtal body also you could remove it to clean a bit better than reinstall and see if it better

Remove the Throttle body and remove the IAC from it. Clean both thoroughly with Gum Cutter and a soft bristle brush. I use an acid brush to do this. Its called an acid brush, but it has nothing to do with acid. The brush is rolled steel with camel hair bristles. Do not use metal bristle brushes on throttle bodies. Gum cutter removes deposits and gum very easily. Remove the IAC and take the o-ring off befor cleaning as the gum cutter will swell the o-ring and make it unusable. Clean the pintle on the IAC very thoroughly as well as the pintle seat in the throttle body.
Hope this helps ya,
Billy

locate, remove, and clean EGR valve. spray fuel injector cleaner works well. based on not just stalling with gas pedal released, but hesitance when driving. ISCU or other idling device is not working whilst driving(gas pedal engaged), only during idling
also, can't rule out bad plug or wire. if it misses - it jerks/hesitates.
go to any parts store and have scan it with scanner, plug should throw a "misfire cylinder such and such" code.
would be the 1st guesses. then you have ol' faithful throttle position and camshaft position sensors, and there's one that feeds back info from trannie that can cause this, forgot it's scientific name. also, cranckshaft sensor, if you have one.
i miss old cars! 2 sensors, one of them working, pleasure to work on.
