We have a richmond water heater model #5VP50E-1 A. It is a 90plus with power vent. It is auto ignition. It has developed a problem where everything cycles fine to ignite the main flame and mainflame lights. Stays lit for 10 to 30 seconds, then goes out. recycles itself and relights and continues this process for approximately 2 to 3 minutes then repeats itself. I have done vacuum switch tests. Removed the piping for the power vent and cycled. Drained 15 gallons from the tank to remove sediment. None has worked. It is in the basement with a vent discharge through the wall outside. Approximately 3 1/2 feet of rise then through the wall. Totalling 5 feet of vent at most. Am losing many hairs due to this and stress from the wife is increasing:wall: . PLEASE HELP

This all I could find on Richmonds web site. I wanted to find your exact water heater to make sure there were no hidden surprises I have not heard about, but was unable.

How old is the water heater?

It's not a Rheem knockoff. Richmond IS a Rheem brand.
