If you mean you have a decorative functioning traverse rod with faux rings then yes.. You should be able to slide them out each end by depressing some sort of pressure spring..
Take a look at what he sliding part of your ring looks like.. You will not be able to find this at Ace or Homedepot.. You will need to get plain replacements slides from the same source you got your rod..
Your replacement slides/carries/glides (whatever) will be the same grooved plastic slide plus a metal tab with a hole punched in it to accept a drapery pin..
You may be able to modify the original glides by removing the ring from the glide with the help of a drill bit to drill out the rivet..

Ummm; I think I understand. I don't have the rods yet so I'm just trying to picture what you're saying.
So, are the ring slides a C shape? If so, I'm thinking the rings they don't actually slide on the rod, the carriers do the sliding. Am I right?
And if so, that's why you can just take the decorative rings off and use the same narrow opening to insert the plain slides. Right?
Thanks so much! Kathy

Correct..
a decorative traverse works exactly like a typical cord drawn white traverse rod you have seen many times.
The rings have no function at all, they are simply an illusion..
the rings are simply a c shaped extension of the rods glides, you always have the option of skipping the rings and just requesting glides without the rings that will accept drapery pins.
no need to modify anything if you haven't purchased them yet.
come on back when it's time to install the rod, i should be able to make it smoother for ya.
good luck :)
