I have a stalling problem on a 1988 Ford Ranger Pick-Up. The truck starts and then stalls after about 3 minutes of driving it. I have replaced the fuel filter and not sure if the fuel pump may be the next to check, however, I have checked the pressure on the fuel pump and it seems to have adequate pressure. I hesitate to change out the fuel pump since I am not sure and I don't have a check enginge light lit to be able to use the diagnostic test. I have done some investigating and many people have had problems and had many different solutions. Can anyone help with this or have knowledge on what the problem may be?
Thanks
Thanks

does it restart you basicly have to check fuel pressure when the truck stalls to see if its losing pressure would suspect it should be around 30-40 psi 30 when the truck is idling and should come up to a higher pressure near 40 when accelerated or with just the key on.
if you have fuel pressure the next thing to check would be for spark if it doesnt restart check it at the plug on atleast a couple of different cylinders.

here's general bag of suggested tests:

you still have onboard computer, maybe less advanced, and just need to find how to read trouble codes. i have no knowledge on how to do it on OBD1 engines, but google almighty will find it for you.

The fuel pump is in the tank. Had to replace mine 'coz it died. The old pump used a copper float which developed a pin-hole and collected fuel so it wouldnt float anymore.
The new one uses a plastic float.
.
You might find some possibilites here...
