I have too many water lilies on my pond. Chemical control is not an option. If I get in a boat, lean over the edge on my stomach, and cut the lilies as far under the surface as I can reach, throw the stems in the boat, does anyone think that I may put a dent in the lilies' growth?

Thanks for all feedback.

Cutting water lilies will leave the root system. More water lilies than before will likely occur. Thus, herbicides are recommended. These can be safe for fish.
