I recently installed a 25' flagpole and I want to put a spotlight out there. Driving around, I see a lot of lights that just illuminate the flagpole and a little bit of the flag. I'm looking for a light to really light up the flag. Can someone please tell me what wattage I should use? I'm running 110v out there. Thanks!

It may not be the wattage as much as the use of a flood rather than a spot light. 150 watt halogen should be sufficient wattage

To light up the flagpost normally i useally run 2 - 150 w PAR floodlight [ this is good up to 20 foot poles ] any taller than that i just run with hid floodlight it will really can throw much further.

Set the floodlight about 5~8 feet away from the post and aim it toward to the top of the post just like the Teepee tent idea.

I will suggest to use slightly diffrent type of floodlight use the sealed housing becasue with standard PAR with a simple lampholder don't alway keep the water out and it can get full of gunk when you try to replace the bulb.

There is 150, 250 w Quatz on hand in big box store.

hope that will help ya.

Merci,Marc
