Hi, my kitchen is all wallboard - ugh.....
I've read a bunch of posts about painting it and I've removed 2 layers of wallpaper. The board is in excellent condition.
Do I need to sand it to ensure the paint sticks? Or can I kilz it, add a coat of primer and 2 coats of paint?

If you got off all the wallpaper adhesive and the surface doesn't have any sheen from previous paint then sanding probably isn't needed but you really need that surface to be clean.
Kilz IS primer so if you "kilz it" then you've primed it.Primer probably isn't a bad idea even if it isn't absolutely necessary considering the previous wallpaper.There are better primers for your situation mostly made by Zinsser and it doesn't sound like you need the stain blocking of Kilz but kilz would likely do an adequate job.
