We are in the middle of our kitchen remodel, and have run into a snag (there has to be one right?). My measurements were exact, but the walls do not seem to be exactly plumb.
My issue is that I need 1/4 inch to install the last wall cabinet. What is the best way to get my cabinet to fit without having to take down the wall and rebuild??
We have contemplated sanding down the sheet rock, or taking apart the cabinet and taking 1/8th off of each side....or screaming!!
Would it be OK to cut out the drywall that will be covered by the cabinet to make it fit? HELP!!!

Welcome to the forums! Let's see....screaming...naw, that won't help. Hindsight is 20-20, but measuring at three points when doing cabinets, countertops, etc. will always show up these aberrations, and you can adjust. You have the other alternatives already in mind. Cutting the wall may be easier than redoing the cabinetry. Don't go any further than 1/4" so you don't lose your wall covering in that area. And don't forget to measure more than one place when you do your countertops so you don't have the same problem, there. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

I will assume the adjoining cabinet is plumb. Hold the last cabinet against the wall in a plumb position. Scrib the face frame along the wall. You may only need to remove the 1/4 inch on a short section of the face frame. Since the face frame extends past the side of the cabinet, the face frame should be the only part needing "adjusting". If you cut down the wall, you will have a problem getting the cabinet into the space unless you reduce the thickness of the wall beyond the cabinet, which would be noticable.

OK, we ended up cutting out the wall because our cabinets aren't the type that you can plane down.
Thanks for the info!
We are actually doing Silestone countertops, and will have the installers do the template, so I don't have to worry about that being my mistake.
Thanks for the help!
