Ok so I just got my concord 4 in.. but waiting for the transformer and battery...
anyhow... how does one tell what the version of the bios is? When I was google'ing around for something else I saw people say.. make sure you have version 4.10 or newer.... so how do you tell what version you have? then how does one upgrade the version?

I think that the version number is on the label on the main IC chip. Also, in User programming, you can view the system version menu.

Just curious, is there any provision for upgrading the firmware in a Concord 4 panel? I don't have any specific issue with mine, just curious. :)

With security systems, the firmware is generally hard coded. There's no way to flash the prom.

Thanks, figured as much, since I see no obvious way to upgrade it. :)

If push came to shove...all of the programming is stored in a removable chip on the motherboard...Theoretically, you could swap out this chip to upgrade the panel with newer firmware. Only problem is you have to buy a new panel to do it (the chips aren't sold separately).

I did see a replacement board for the Concord 4 for around $80, but now I can't find it. OTOH, I have no real reason to upgrade, since I think the firmware in mine is reasonably current.

You should be alright, no big upgrades planned in the near future..

It has a lot of capability I'll never use, I want pretty basic security. I have motion detectors, windows and doors, and some stress sensors on beams in selected high traffic areas.
