I have questions on my Radionics D4112 that came with the house ... that seem to turn the Alarm on/off by pressing the pressing the preset CMD buttons. CMD 1 = On CMD 4 = Off ... that is all what the prior owner did and knows.
1. How do I turn the Alarm on/off using a passcode? I have found the original installation docs . One paper does indicate a "passcode" = xxxx (4 digit number)
2. Since the system not being monitored currently, it gives off service beeps (annoying) every hour on the hour until I reset the system. How do I turn this annoying noise off for good?
3. Failing above options; I previously had DSC alarm system that I liked. Can I simply replace the Control box and the keypads? Do I have to replace the contacts also or are the existing contacts usable with the DSC system?
Many Thanks!
Jon

I recommend simply replacing the control and keypad(s) with something current. The older Radionic systems used a special programmer that used a book of barcodes and a scanner wand (nearly impossible to lay hands on).
Not to mention, the user interface on the Radionic design is not the most end-user friendly ever concocted...

Not sure been many moons ago, but isn't a D4112 panel a 6 volt system? If so be mindful of any smokes and or glass breakers, motions detectors. If you so you may need to replace those items also.

Nope, the 4112 is a standard 12v system.

Ok bear with me been like 15 years since I played with Radionics alarm panels, so a 6 volt system would have been something like 4106? As the last 2 digits are the system voltage right?

I think so. My archive of Radionic manuals dates from about 1997, and there are only 12v systems in that one. Some of the very early Ademco, Radionic, and other early brands did use 6 volt systems, but by the mid 90's 12volt was the standard.
