Hi everyone, I am new to this site and I must say I have read a lot of very useful info so far.

We have just purchased a 1975 18ft TT which has a sink and a toilet/shower in one. We were told by the previous owner that we have only one holding tank where all waste/water will flow into from the sink and bathroom.

My question is how can we tell what the tank capacity is? I cannot find specs anywhere for this particular type of trailer (Sunset something?) and from what I have read we shouldn't empty the tank until it is about 2/3 full.

I do not want to have an overflow or any other mishap while camping for the first time with this unit.

Anyone with any advice I would welcome it.

My suggestion would be to crawl underneath the trailer and find the holding tank and measure it and then figure the volume of it.

and no matter what size it is...it won't be enough for you to take regular showers and stuff in. be very conservative.

i always empty my holding tanks because bacteria cand and will grow even in the gray water tank...and it can stink pretty badly.

does your TT have a toilet? if it does, i think it has to have a separate holding tank for the "black" water.
