Help. Our hotwater heater will not heat our home. The pilot light is on but when I turn on the heat it seems as if the pilot light does not ignite the gas. What should I do? It was working fine yesterday. Thank you. James&Pam

Hi:Trauma
Out this way we don't see too many of these systems. However, those I have seen use the same water heater to supply hot water to the house at the faucets and heat the house.
If your system does the same, then the hot water tank is working. It may be the heater's hot water circulating pump that isn't working. It's that heating pump that moves the hot water through the heat coils.
If your home has a hot water heater just for the heating system <most likely in your state> and the pump isn't working, the water in that tank will be hot but not moving through the system.
With all the possibilities of that type of heating system, I would suggest you contact a qualified plumming and or heating contractor for repairs.
