When I put the mower away it was working top notch. Today I went to start it and it fired but I noticed gas was dripping out where the air filter attaches ?? What could cause this?

Sounds like the float is gummed up/sticking or a piece of trash got under the float needle valve, In any event the carb should be taken off. Remove the float bowl and clean throughly with carb & choke cleaner with the little straw spraying through all ports and passages, Shake the float in your finger and thumb to check for fuel inside (possible pin hole). Also make sure any ports in the bowl retainer nut is fully open as well.

Good Luck

Your suggestions were most helpful. Yes the needle and spring were gummed up which did not allow the float to push the needle in tight and the hole in the bowl mounting bolt was plugged, so cleared that. All back together and running good and no leaks Thanks :>)
