Hi, I currently have a brick patio that I would like to make bigger as well as update with new patio stones and I am trying to find out what I am going to need to do.

Is there a step by step process of doing this that you can help with or are there any reference sites that you would be able to suggest to help me understand what to do please?

Thanks in advance...

If you have interlocking concrete pavers (maximum dimension less than 9 or 19") then you may find good information at the site of the Interlocking Concrete pPaver Institute - icpi.com

They may not look like they interlock, but the interlock is because of the sand in the thin joint between the pavers, the pattern they are laid in and the installation procedure.

If they are clay brick pavers, much of the information is applicable, but the stability is less unless they are set in concrete.
