I have a 800 sq. ft. home. It is only 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom,
Kitchen/dining room, living room. I have two ways to run my swamp cooler. One way is on my roof, straight down using the starter kit from HomeDepot that includes the stand, pluem, 10ft. insulated tube duct and then the disfusser.
The other way is to place the unit on my utility room roof, which will allow me to side vent into the house, again using a side starter kit from Homedepot which will have all I need. But If I go this route, I really would like to have it vented into each room. I could easily go from one end of the house where the swamp cooler is with a straight line to the other end of the house.
If I choose to go with the second choice, what would be the best way to come off the main duct? And what size of duct should I use to "Y" off for each room vent?
If I use 10" insulated tube ducting for the main line, and vent off for each room using a "Y" or "T" connector, what size of duct should I use coming off the main? And what size of vent should I use?
I have been told that coming off the main duct to seperate room vents can be tricky. And that it will hurt my output of air to each room in a very big way. Too the point that at the end of the main duct to the last two rooms, there would be hardly any output and I would barely feel a breeze from the swamp cooler.
Can you please help me understand the best way to do this new install? We are afraid that if we do the house roof install and do a straight down duct to one disfuser, that it will blow hard in one area and not reach the other areas well. And my wife works nights and sleeps days and keeps her door closed since I am home now that I am retired.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Keith
