We just moved into a new house. It it two stories and it has two ACs: one upstairs and one downstairs.
How would I best utilize them for both heating/cooling and energy costs?
I figure that in the summer the one upstairs will work harder. The bedrooms are all that are upstairs, so during the day I wouldn't need it as cool up there.
Vice-versa in the winter.
What is the best way to accomplish this? Do I just stagger the temps upstairs and downstairs during the night and day?

THERE YOU GO . Id set them and let the tstat alone. For cool in summer. Set the down stairs tstat higher. As the cool air will fall down from the upstairs. You just have to play with them at first to see what is best.;)
