I rented a two man auger for digging post holes for a deck and fence. Now it is stuck in the ground anyone have any tips on how to get it out?

If the two of you can't unscrew it and lift it out, you better start digging.

That happened to me. Auger got wedged in some roots. I ended up having to dig (with a shovel no less!) all around it to be able to get in there with an axe to hack at the roots. After an hour or 2 of intense sweating, it came out. Can't say it was easy. I ended up with a pretty big hole for a footing...lol
