We have a concrete patio that had been painted, and the paint is starting to flake and peel off. We want to lay tiles over the concrete, but need to remove the paint before doing so. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best, (easiest) way to remove this old paint?

hugnik,

Welcome to the forums.

You are probably better off posting this in both the Paint and Concrete forums, if you haven't already done so.

I can tell you this. Before painting concrete, it HAS to be acid etched so that the paint will adhere to it. And you have to use paint formulated to adhere to concrete -- probably an epoxy based paint. If you don't do both of those, the paint is gonna flake and peel.

Using a pressure washer is probably the easiest/quickest method of removing the paint. You may need paint and varnish remover for any stubborn areas.
