Outdoor Power Equipment and Small Engines - Need info on my snowblower.

I recently acquired a Craftsman snowblower.It's model num. is536.882500.The code is 4318.It has a 5hp engine,the number on the blowerhousing is 143744092.Ser is 4255B.It has a Lauson carb num. 7384G17.Does anyone know any info about this machine??Is there a repair manual for this?I'd like to go over it in my spare time and check it out and clean it up.The gas was very bad.I took off the carb and removed the bowl.I sprayed it with carb cleaner and reinstalled it.The primer button is good,but it won't shoot any gas into the carb.I took a small bottle and squirted gas in the carb.The motor runs,but only enough to burn up whatever I manually put in the carb.Could there be a pick-up in the carb bowl that is clogged?Maybe the carb is all gummed up.I also need to replace the cracked belts.Can anyone help me figure this out??Thank you.

I think the prefix 536 means that the unit was made by murray. Go to www.sears.com and look up the unit there. There should be a diagram there to view unless the unit is pretty old.

It sounds like the carb needs a thorough cleaning at the least.

Thank you.I didn't find much at Sears.I think its an older model,or else whoever had it before me didn't take very good care of it.I can tell it sat in the rain for a while cause the handles are rusty.The pulleys are a little rusty too.It needs a good disassembly and cleaning.I'll tear it down to nothing and put it back together.I need the proper manual to do it.I don't want to buy one and get the wrong one.I have all summer to fix 'er up.Thanks again.

Try searching for a manual by model # online, and at ebay. I see lots of obsolete manuals on ebay for sale all the time. Good chances there is one for your machine out there too.
