still dripping water----have cleaned it with simple green several times and vaccumed it several times---it is much better then it was when it first started---a/c is ten years old and this is the first time that the coil has been cleaned---should i continue cleaning it since the dripping has slowed down considerably-----there have been small pieces of black comming out with the water--is this what is clogging up the coil?--

Yes! Coil should be cleaned yearly. Make sure the drain does not stop up.

Your coil should drip if you are running the A/C, it will vary depending on the humidity of the air. Remember, you are recycling the air in the house, , so as it gets cooler, you will have less condensation (dripping). Also depends on the humidity of the air outside.
Where is the black stuff coming from, directly off the coil, or from the drain pipe to the outside? If off the coil, its probably more dust and lint. If you see it only at the drain pipe it could be bits of mold coming off the inside of the drain pipe. I would take a cup of bleach and pour it down in the drain pipe to the outside, then follow up with a quart or 2 of hot water, to flush it out a few minutes later. Put a bucket under the outside pipe to catch the bleach and rinse water, then dispose of it properly.
At least thats from my own experience with long uncleaned coils.

there is ice forming on the copper tubeing that is connected to the evaporator coil---could this be a --freon leak? if so can it be repaired? if i put soap suds on the tubeing will it show me if there is a leak there?

It can be a leak. It could be a dirty coil or a airflow problem. Soap bubbles will work but the leak could be outside.

Ice on the larger line?
Yes, it could be a leak, but can be a number of other things.
-Poor air flow
-Too many vents closed/blocked
-Dirty Air filter
-Dirty blower cage
-Belt slipping (If older model)
If all above is good, then you will need to call for service, since you won't be able to make the repair if there is a leak somewhere.
