Sorry if this is a dumb question. I've welded steel and soldered silver, nothing in between. I'm wondering if the aluminum in cans can be fused to itself? I'd like to have no edges, sharp or otherwise. Is it possible?

That would be like welding paper. Aluminum can be welded but you would need to be some expert to weld that thin stuff.
