Hey. U guys have been incredible in the past. Hoping u can help me out with this one. I bought an outdoor ceiling fan to replace a ceiling light in my screened in room. The light is operated by a traditional switch... one black, one white. This fan has a receiver switch that has 2 black and 1 green. Both black wires have a tag on them that says they should not be hooked up to White (neutral). So I"m stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Here is a link to the receptacle. The switch for the fan is in the middle and the other two are dimmer switches that control other lights. Thx http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc3/paulst_01/receptacle.jpg

Don't let this get circulated in the other posts.....but did the fan come with instructions??? I know, I know, that's the last resort. Is the fan a European fan or does it run off 120 volts?

Yes it did and they may as well of been written in French. I bought it at Home Depot and rumor has it they are manufactured in China. It seems clear that the switch (receiver) needs 2 black lines to attach to, just not sure how one goes about it.

The instructions also say this: Warning: Hook up in "series only" Do Not connect the hot and neutral wires of electric circuit to the transmitter wall switch - Damage to the switch and possible fire could occur.

Not sure what "series only" means...

I found out what "in series" meant and resolved the issue. Fan is working fine now. Thanks
