Just bought a bunch of redwood 4 x 4's at the lumber yard.
The actual measurements are 3.25" x 3.25". The yard charged by boardfeet and used 4.00" x 4.00" to calculate the total. I was under the impression that you calculate the boardfeet by adding .25" to the actual dimension, which then should be 3.5" x 3.5". Am I wrong?

Unfortunately, they round *up* to the nearest inch, (in whole numbers).
