The space is 10 x 12 and I am using (4) 5" remodel type Light o Leers and (3) hanging pendants over an island. I have laid out my (4) lights 12" beyond the cabinets which just about lines up with the edge of the countertop. All lights will install fine based on the ceiling joists except one. The one and only light that interfears will be out from the cabinet above the refrigerator. This light will be more of a walkway light than required for the frig, it has an internal light. The frig is not cabinet depth and it sticks out 7" further than the cabinet. Here's the problem.... all of the lights will look nicely spaced from the cabinet except for this one. As I see it, I have these choices:
Add another 3" or so out from the cabinet for this one light and don't care that it is further than all others.
Add another 3" to all light spacing but it will move it out further than the counter and may create a shadow.
Move that one light way out into the walkway area since it's not needed for the frig and it's not over a countertop anyway.
What do you think?

I have done both option 1 and option 3. I would try to leave the others over the countertop.
