We have recently noticed that our AC vents in the ceiling on the first and second floor are completely filthy with dust. We can see just by looking up from underneath them that there is tons of dust up there. Would it be wise for me to try and remove the vent and get a vacuum cleaner hose up there and suck some of these dust out? Or is this a job best left for a pro?

I really don't see how you could mess that up with either wiping it down with a cloth or something - Your idea with the vaccum would be good.

Unless the home owners have inspector gadget arms, I don't think they will be able to get the entire duct....;)
