Hi, our electrician is MIA right now and I am trying to pick the right lamps for the 5" IC remodel recessed housings we bought. The seller offers a wealth of info and exact specs for the trims I got, but when I looked at the actual bulbs I was surprised.

We bought:
4 Gimbal Ring w/Gold Cone, White Ring (to accent walls)
Seller recommends:
50 Watt PAR30 maximum lamp for IC or TC

Also -- the goal here is to use the gimbals as ersatz wall washers so I was assuming we should get spotlight rather than flood, correct?

We bought:
7 Wheat Polished Cone w/ White Ring (for kitchen overhead lighting)
Seller recommends:
50 Watt PAR20 maximum lamp when used with either Insulated Ceiling (IC) or Thermal Cutout (TC) Housings.

(I assume we need floods)

Of course these PAR20s are very small bulbs, the lowes guy I chatted with was skeptical that this was what I needed for 5" overhead lighting.

Any feedback appreciated!

Any chance you know what brand name on the can itself ??

example : Juno , Haloplane , few others should able find the info on the can wall itself and run by us maybe the seller may get you a wrong type. [ let hope not but it do happend once a while ]

but both PAR 20 and 30 do come in both short and long neck verison the short neck is common with smaller eyeball gimbal.

Merci,Marc

Sorry I should have mentioned that in the first post, they are both Juno, and the numbers are:

154189 Juno 689G-WH (gimbal trim)

186225 Juno 207WHZ-WH (polished cone, general overhead lighting)

I believe the bolded part is the manufacturer sku ...

I was wondering about the long neck vs. short neck also. Thanks for bringing that up, I actually didn't see that choice at Lowes but the seller has those options in their lamps section.
