I haven't really built anything in my life. My boyfriend can help me because he's good with his hand s and has more construction experience then I do.

I would like to attempt building some stuff for a kitchen.

Basically this:

Spice rack
multi tiered dessert rack (you put cookies, muffins, and other baked goods on them)

I am wondering with the dessert rack is it even possible to build one or would I have to buy one? If it's possible to make a dessert rack via do-it-yourself how exactly would I go about doing so?
I tried to do a search via a search engine to find basic plans for how to construct one, but no such luck. Advice regarding it would be much appreciated.

I Googled "spice rack, construction plans" and got many hits. Check the website below:

Good luck with your project.

If you need to buy it, someone else made it. If he/you have the tools, you can make it. But you can make it the way you want it, not the way someone else made it. As suggested above, there are lots of plans out there for all sorts of things. You don't have to follow them, you can modify the plans to fill your needs.

It often does take some expensive equipment and space.

It seems logical to me to spend $500 on tools to build a piece that may cost $50...... and all the time spent in the shop figuring out how to and building it :D

shhhhh........... don't tell my wife, she thinks I'm saving us money ;) :p
