If you are using firefox or IE 6 you can read about my experiences with tankless water heaters in my house, rentals and at home inspections in the Chicago climate here (http://paragoninspects.com/tankless-heater-home-inspection-evanston-chicago-il-faq.html).
Unfortunately the page does not display properly in IE 7, I'm currently working on getting that fixed.

If you go to this site there is alot of great information. Tank less is the way to go! Noritz and Seisco are the best.

And sufficient additional service for the increased amperage draw. You'll probably need a second 200 amp panel. My electric tankless draws 130 amps.
