It's that time to waterproof my wooden deck and I already have a sprayer to do the floors but I was wondering if there was a better and quicker method to apply the waterproof on the vertical parts of the railing. There are so many of them and I dont look forward to using a paint brush for each one to get all 4 sides.

I use a small 4" roller that has a terry cloth looking roller cover. It is fast and easy. It also gets into the corners!

If you have a small enough tip, you can spray the pickets - use a piece of cardboard to help control the overspray. It will take more material! If not spraying, a 4" roller can really speed up the work on the railing

Whenever spraying wood siding or decking it is always best to either back brush or back roll the sprayed on coating. This helps to work the stain [or any coating] into the wood = longer lasting and better looking :D When feasable, I like to spray a coat, back roll it and then spray on another coat. On most jobs this will give the best looking and longest lasting paint/stain job.
