I'm replacing the outdoor fan and motor on my a/c. The old motor had tree wires: red, black, and brown. The replacement motor (used - from an ex-neighbor) has four wires: black, white, brown, and brown with a white stripe. How should I connect them?

Black and white are for power. The 2 brown wires go the proper capacitor for the motor.

Mattison, thanks for the reply.
In the old hook up were the black and red for power?
Old hook up:
Red Wire: from fan to switch (I think) and directly to capacitor.
Black Wire: from fan to opposite side of the switch.
Brown Wire: from fan to capacitor.
Should I route the new white wire where the old red wire went?
Do the brown wires go to the same post on the capacitor, or should the brown wire with the white stripe go to the post with the red wire, or the post with the blue wire?
