When I turn on the power for our air conditioner, the fan inside the house blows warm air but the outside unit does not kick on. I've sprayed the outside unit down and cleaned all the spiderwebs off it. I took the outside unit's cover off and all the hoses and connections appear to be fully engaged.
Any recommendations as to what I might do next?

Turn thermostat OFF; have someone outside, by the condensing (outdoor) unit...someone else inside flip the thermostat switch to COOLING and the temperature dial all the way down (to as cold as it gets)...let us know if while the person inside does that, the one by the outside unit hears a click.
We are trying to determine if the t-stat is being able to communicate to the outdoor unit the call for cooling.
No click would mean the communication is not taking place. If a click is heard, then you may have a blown fuse inside the fuse box near the outdoor unit, or a tripped circuit breaker in the breaker panel inside the house.
We'll take it from there. Let us know.

Well, there was no click.
And by the way, I've installed brand new fuses.

Pls post, from the nameplates, the MFR and full M/N for both, the outdoor unit as well as the furnace inside the home.
Let us know the Mfr & M/N of that thermostat as well.
How long did the person outside waited for the click that never happened? Some outdoor units come armed with a time-delay-controller which could hold back the engaging of that contactor (and the subsequent click) for up to 5 minutes...and if you happen to have a digital t-stat, same thing could happen.
