I purchased three Hunter ceiling fans. I had an electrician install all three. One of them has a ticking noise when running the fan on the highest speed. I purchased the Hunter fans because of the good name. What might be causing this ticking? Neither of the other two fans tick at high speed.
Thank you
Thank you

Did the electrician balance the blades? Most of the time you're good to go right out of the package, but once in a while a balancing weight or two is needed.

I had that, drove me crazy til I realized it was just the pull chain slightly swinging and tapping the motor. Even after balancing, wound up putting a tiny dab of clear silicone where it touched.

I will have to turn the fan on high and watch and see if it is the pull chain. Since the guy who installed them is coming back to put recessed lighting in the kitchen I will ask if he balanced the blades also. Thanks so much.

Just checked it with the fan on high and the pull chain is not hitting anything. Could the blades really cause that sound if they are not balanced?

It is possible one of the wires in the canopy was pushed down too far during assembly and could be hitting the armature. I've had that happen as well. Tell the installer so he can take a look at it.
