Hit 80F inside so today is my 1st really good test. stat was 80 and i set it for 76 with a 3 degree swing.
It is much quieter than my old Ruud plus i moved it 8' away from my BR.
House got heated up all day no ac, so this is a good full power test. Turned it on 5:14 pm. It just shut off at 5:39. Not bad! Stat says 77, so it must of just touched 76 and cycled off. It should come on again quickly as the house has lots of heat in the walls and furniture etc.
EDIT: ON again at 5:49. Not bad 25m on 10min off. Next off will be all for today. It is only 77 outside now, cooling off fast.
OFF 5:57 test over. Might increase swing to 4F.

I'd love to see 24 hour charts plotting temperatures and humidity.
IF you live in an area of normally low humidity this can work. For most people the dehumidification function is as important as the cooling function and the practice of oversizing the cooling system is a big mistake.
However, if you are happy then I am happy for you.

Agree! Unless your running dehumidification the RH is going to be high. Also short run times are hard on the unit!

i find it is the HEAT that bothers me most.
it is still attic fan(60watt) season; ran it all nite; brings in the humid sea breeze; very comfy! and smells nice. 70F breeze 76 inside. Sometimes(next month?) it is so humid, water drips off the roof. THAT gets a little sticky, BUT is not a problem if the temp is not too high. Fine for working outside in the morning. That is full time ac season; house dries out then.
.
my new 3T is only 34,400 btu vs 36000 on my 19 year old ruud. sycamore tree now shades west end so less btu needed.
the 33 min test yesterday used ~24 cents of electric

I sure found down there in Fl it dont pay to pull outside air in the home . Seal it up and let the AC run. If the size is right it will do a good job and keep the humidity down in the home. Then it dont have to run as much.If you open the home up for just a day . The poor AC has to run and run for the next 4 days to get the humidity back out of the home. You need a hot water recovery unit on that AC. I got about 8 months free hot water and kicked up the seer of the unit with them.;)

ed-dont u live in SOUTH FL? very HUMID there LOL. Nice here today.
.
just hit the 30" attic fan and opened the door. WOW! U guys living in a sealed box are surely missing out on wonderful fresh 75F air. It hit 81 and i had kept it out with the windows closed. Now they are open and it is GREAT!
Fan cost $25, only draws 60w. runs 13-16 hrs for about a dime. I wouldn't take FREE AC on a day like today. I LOVE the outdoors.

64 outside 74 inside attic fan works great except,
have bad smell from new unit(mastic glue; duct to air handler). i'm running the blower 2hrs a day with attic fan.
hopefully this will clear up soon. the guy said it would dry in 2-8 hours, this is the 4th day.

got to do a "last chance" heat test.
57F outside
74 in.
Ran it 10 min; went from 74 to 78 in kitchen
from 75.0 to 77.0 in BR.
vent 89-93F
cost 6 cents at 11.8¢/kwh
works great!
but still smells of mastic, tho not as bad.
