I am about to install outdoor soffit lighting and I am a little concerned abour bugs getting into my attic. I have bought outdoor soffit lights - they seal well around the hole in the soffit, however behind the bulb there are holes that will help keep the bulbs cool....but also let insects into the attic.
I have thought about figuring out how to attach some metal screening over these holes.....any other thoughts?

Good morning and welcome to the DIY Forums!
Could you post a photo of your fixture? You can upload to a host site. (Picasa if you have a Google account, or photobucket works fine.) Then post the link here?
Thanks!

I understand your concern. However I see insects even in sealed fixtures.
Perhaps a closed lens would slow them down.
