the colors on the wires coming out of the ceiling are as follows white(maybe gray) purple, green.yellow and red. I am attempting to install a ceiling fan and im clueless as to what wires attach to what..! The fans wire colors are blue white black and green HELP!!

You need to open the switch box and tell us what wires are connected to the switches.

ok its a two switch plate on the wall looking at it straight on the switch on the left is PURPLE on top and RED on bottom and the switch on the right is YELLOW on top and RED on bottom

OK The purple and yellow wires at the ceiing are the two wires controled by the switches.
At the ceilng you are not going to use the red. Put a cap on it.
Connect green to green and white to white.
Connect the black and blue wires one each to the yellow and purple wires.

The fan black is the fan control. The blue is the light control.
