I built a wood bar that has a tile countertop with glass cabinets and hanging wine glasses. I purchased 3" Recessed Lighting (6 total) to be installed by the hanging glasses. Each recessed light contains a 50 watt bulb. I also purchased 14/2* (Type NM-B indoor ) wiring cables to jump or connect the 6 recessed lights from one recessed light to another. My question is, there is a near by kitchen hanging light fixture (150 watts) that I plan on removing and changing into an smaller light fixture (that contains two 60 watt bulbs):Can I connect the recessed light wiring (14/2 electrical wiring) thats running from the bar, to the same kitchen ceiling light fixture wiring working off the same switch that activates that particular light? A store employee at Homedepot said I could. I don't know alot about amps, so I figured 6 recessed ligths holding 50 watt bulbs each equals to 300 watts, also the new smaller light fixture holding two 60 watt bulbs, brings the overall total to 420 watts. Is 420 watts to much for the circuit breaker or outlet source where the wiring is coming from?*

Do you know what else is on the circuit. The amount of lights you describe is fine but it does depend on what other loads are on the circuit.

Well, the kitchen light fixture works on a single switch, but that switch is also joined with a panel of two other swithces. Each of the panel switches works different lights. To explain a little better, one switch works the hall light, second switch works the kitchen hanging light near the bar I built, and the third switch works 6 other recessed lights in the kitchen that the builder installed when the house was built. Do you think I can connect 6 more recessed lights (running off the wiring of the hanging light), because all lights in the kitchen are running off this three switch panel? Or is 6 more recessed lights too much on this outlet?

maybe maybe not but did you get all the wattage add up on that circuit ??
if you are below 1500 watts on that circuit then you are fine with it but from 1500 to 1800 amp that is borderline but it ok due the luminares are not rated for contiontuous duty per NEC defetion.
and also you should map out all the circuits as well while you are doing that so it will save yourself some headache when you do the trobleshooting later.
