Have any of you ever used Oil heat? A couple of my friends use Oil Heat as do I. I don't know if this thread belongs in this section. But I just thought I'd put my two cents in. What do you guys think of Oil heating solutions?:D

Are you talking about bio-oil or a blend thereof? Or, are you talking about the traditional petroleum product known as #2 heating oil. Bioheat tends to be a blend of heating oil and an organic oil like soy and is touted to be higher in BTUs and burn cleaner than traditional heating oil.
There are steps you can take to conserve energy, such as sealing gaps where heat escapes, adding insulation, turning back the thermostat, and upgrading heating system to Energy Star equipment. For more tips: http://www.oilheatamerica.com/index.mv?screen=tips

I use regular #2 fuel oil for my furnace.
I also have a heat pump and it saves on oil usage alot while using slightly more electricity than i would usually use.
I am interested in bio diesel or some blend for my furnace but i'm not sure if it would work in my system.
I have used regular diesel and kerosene in emergencys with no problems.
Where can i get this bioheat?
Or do i have to make it?
