I'm in dire need of a spark plug wire for a Craftsman Eager-1 model 917.388410. I have searched the Sears site and it looks as if this engine is discontinued and they do not have the part I am looking to obtain. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I can attache a picture for reference

I would think a local lawn mower repair shop would have it in stock. I found on the web two sites were you can order 10 to 20 foot lengths of spark plug wire and boots to make it yourself. Or perhaps the shop could make the cable for you. I have no connection to either of the sites; just passing them along for reference:

Basically I just need to replace the wire and cap. I have a spit at the end of the cap, pictured. The problem is that the wire is cemented onto the boot.

You can replace the boot seperately, just pull it off. The glue will turn loose, or trim it off. The crack in the boot shouldn't hurt anything though...many coils come with no boot and are used that way.

Yep, should be the same, even if the appearance is slightly different, the boot should still work. (the coil itself may not, however).
