Hello, looking at some new lighting for the exterior of our house. I do not know the name of those things that are between the light fixture and the siding. Ours are white, I think it's to protect it from the weather conditions?

Here is the fixture I am looking at...There would be 4 of these

The mounting structure looks different than your typical rounded mount.

Thank you..

They are wedges to bring the base of the light fixture parallel to the siding and give you a flat surface to mount the light on. Now, with the lights you have picked out, the ornate portions will stick above and below the block on the siding. You may want to post a couple of pictures of your existing mounting blocks so we can see them, too.

These can be retrofitted also.

I really don't care about the look of it, so can i just mount the fixture on the regular siding block?
This is what ours is similar to..traditional siding block (http://www.aifittings.com/new_images/8131Prod.-orange_kit-.jpg)

Thank You
