I insulated a room with the kraftpaperfaced fiberglass, and plastic encased batts given to me by a freind. My question,??? Can I put plastic over everything, for another vaper barrier? I wish I would have gone with unfaced fiberglass and poly for a vaper barrier. I'm thinking that the extrta plastic will help make the room warmer ,and make up for my un-perfect insulation job. Of course, my thinking might no be right so I need the advice of a master. Thank you,,,,,,:coffee:

If you want a more reliable, continuous vapor barrier, slash the faces of the batts deeply and cover with 6 mil poly (minimum)

Kraft paper is not a true VP. The insulation in the bags dosent that have holes in it. If it does you still need a VB 6mil poly.

Vapor barriers are good but if not properly ventilated or excessive you may end up trapping the moisture in your home or worse, between the walls where it can promote mold and/or mildew. The Department of Energy has a really good read on insulation with info relevant to which part of the country you live in.
