I'm updating my bathroom and have an old but pristine spa tub -- except that the jet covers, drain, etc. are gold that have corroded quite a bit. (Remember the 80's look)

Is it possible to repaint these parts?? I'd like to go with a nice bronze finish to match the new faucet.

I hate the idea of throwing out the whole tub, but cannot find any help with this problem. All the forums on repainting metal don't deal with metal that's under water!!

Thanks

Hi Patti, Welcome to the DIY Forums!

I don't know if you can paint those, but someone may come along who does know.

I do know those jets can be replaced.

Can you take a picture, upload it to Picasa if you have a Google account, or photobucket if you don't. Then put the link to the photo in a thread. Try the Plumbing forum, and someone willl undoubtedly get you going in the right direction.

Replacement is the way to go. And, I'd go with the white plastic ones if available. Contact the manufacturer or look online for parts for your particular model. Paint will not hold up to thermal shock, chemicals, and the forceful water.
