I just find out that wood "C" ring for a 2 1/4" traverse rod cost a lot of money. I found out from a local store that 2" Kirsch C rings cost is much more reasonable. My question is, can I use Kirsch 2" C rings if I purchase a 2" dia. traverse rod (instead of a 2 1/4" dia. rod) from a custom drapery shop?
The traverse rod comes with carrier, will it be possible to install the C ring myself on the rod?

The Kirsch rings are plastic, not wood, which is why they may be cheaper. I may be wrong, but only some styles of decorative traverse rods are able to use the rings and some not and some "C" rings are made for non traversing rods. So it's hard to say if what you're wanting to buy will work together or not. The rings need to be larger than the rod so not sure if you're looking at 2" rings or rings made for a 2" rod. You're best bet is to buy everything from the same hardware collection and buy it all from either the local store or the drapery place, which will insure everything works together correctly. Also, the "C" rings on the traverse rod are faux, so you don't need them they're just for show.
