I would like to convert an upstairs room into a bathroom, the problem though is installing the toilet. The floor below this room is the bedroom. I was thinking about installing a rear outlet toilet against a wall that divides the future bathroom to be from the attic where there at about six feet away there are drain lines including a suer stack that goes down to a downstairs bathroom. A normal outlet toilet is out of the question also for the reason that the floor joists run perpendicular to the lines I just mentioned.
The problem is that I know nothing about this type of toilet,I tried to educate myself on the Net but all I can find is information on toilets with a rear outlet that include some type of macinator/grinder system. Does anyone know anything on the subject? And/or a place on the web where the prices are reasonable,I can't believe the prices I have seen.
Thanks a million
Paolo

Wall mount toilets are common in commercial applications, but not in residential. They require considerable framework to support the toilet and a potentially heavy body. And they are usually expensive.

I have seen some toilets on the net that sit on the floor just like a normal one but with a rear discharge. Any more information on this type of toilet?
Thanks,
Paolo

I WISH I didn't have this type, because they are more expensive. Our home was vandalized and they broke our toilet, of all things. Kohler & American Standard each have one around $500 each. They sit on the floor, not suspended like a commercial one.
