If your grill is a national name brand such as Weber then the parts needed to convert are available. You should reach out to a Weber dealer not a big box as the service level, knowledge and parts availability will not exist at a big box store.

Otherwise I'd start by talking to the place you bought the grill from and see what happens.I'd certainly consider returning the grill if you can't get conversion information and parts that you feel will give you the proper results.Conversion involves changing orifices and so forth. This is not something you want to be unsure about or that you feel the least bit uncomfortable about.

If you bought a lesser quality grill from a big box store return it and get what you need.My take on this is you got little or no customer service with your purchase or else this would not have happened.

Take the grill back and get the right one. No point paying for the conversion kit, if available.

This time, read the box before you leave. :)
