I live in the south in a raised house which already has batts between the floor joist. I want to seal things up and am considering using foam boards over the insulation and attached to the joists. Any problems in doing it this way especially with moisture issues. Any suggestions for alternatives would be greatly appreciated.

This site will give you some insights on vapor barriers and how to apply them in different areas of the country. In Southern climates it is recommended that vapor barriers face the outside of the house. More importantly when air conditioning is used, "Air Sealing" is applied to prevent a potential moisture problem.
