I have some fairly new plantation blinds (2" wide). I've decided that the wood tones make the room too dark, and I really should have gone with white instead. Before pitching the ones I have, I thought I might try painting (spray paint) with a satin finish spray. I thought what the heck. I can't return them (custom size), so it might be worth a try. Any idea if this might work?

Do you know what type of finish is currently on them?
More than likely you can prime them with a pigmented shellac [like zinnser's BIN] and then paint them.
