I have two rod pocket drapes that I want to use with drapery rings instead of the rod alone. I don't want to stick pins directly into the fabric because they will surely rip through due to the length and weight. Is there a good way to do this without too much trouble?

Thanks!

Can you sew or do you know someone that sews? If so, either sew a small tuck down 4" (top to bottom and just pinch about an inch together to the front), then you have a place to stick the pin or you can sew the ring right on to the drapery, near the top in 3 places (like an upside down y
/\ ) and sew thru to the front using matching thread.

You have been so helpful. I can't say thanks enough. I have one last question that involves my final window treatment project (for awhile anyway).

I am having a pleated balloon shade made and the fabric is 54" wide. My window is 60" wide and 36" long. This will be the finished size, meaning the measurements include the window trim, it's not an interior measurement. The fabric I'm using doesn't really have a repeat to worry about. Here is my concern: They told me that I would need about 7 yards of fabric for this one shade. Can you tell me if that seems right?

Thanks a million!

Hi! Glad to help. :D I like to add extra length to these shades for permanent poufs at the bottom so that when it's in the down position, it doesn't look flat, and so, I also come up with 7 yards and maybe even 8, which is probably where they come up with this amount also. If you don't want the extra length you could get by with 6 yards, but no less.
Most treatments use a lot more fabric than one would think.
