I have a 1989 single lever bath faucet which lifts up to turn on the water and left and right to change temperature. The temperature either goes very hot or very cold and can never set to warm for a shower. I think it is a Delta faucet. How can I resolve this problem? Also, can a new faucet be put in without breaking the tile???

That valve can be repaired from inside the shower. To replace the valve totally would require wrecking the wall.

It needs a new cartridge sounds like.:)
