Hi,
I'm thinking about installing Merbau in my kitchen. Though I'm handy, this will be my first install of a hardwood floor. Is there anything I need to be concerned about regarding this wood such as hardness, cutting, nailing, etc that a first timer might have trouble with? BTW, it would be installed over a 3/4" plywood subfloor.
Thanks,
Dave

Merbau is a very hard wood. It is photo sensitive. With exposure to light color will deepen to darker browns. Read and follow manufacturer's installation directions. For additional hardwood flooring installation instructions, go to www.nofma.org (http://www.nofma.org) and click publications. Download for free the National Oak Flooring Manufacturers Association's manual on installing wood floors.
