I have a lot of spider nesting and webbing everywhere around my house.

It's hard to explain, but the house is a wrap around structure, meaning the middle is a courtyard with a pool, and all around this courtyard is the house. Over the courtyard is an screen enclosure attached to the roof system.

So the courtyard is screened in, so that no insects can go in or come out. See this image:

Now the spiders are creating the web inside the courtyard along the aluminum framing members of the screen enclosure. In each corner, along the frame and the screen. How they come inside is anyone's guess, as those screens are supposed to be "no-seeum" screens.

The house is vacant since I am remodeling it, and there are people working in it but no one stays there at night so during the night time all lights are off, so it is unlikely they come because of any lights as there are no lights.

The type of spider I did some search and it looks like this one:

the spiny backed orb weaver.

Along the framing members I see the web and dangling on the web are a lot of greenish pod looking things. Are those spider nest or cocoons?

How can I control this?

Thanks,

Hi MiamiCuse,

I must say this was one of the more interesting topics I've researched. I have found that spiders are good predators in the garden and I leave them alone. When I find one indoors that I can reach, I put it outside. Of course I get chills the entire time. Here's info on 'your' spider. Do be sure to click on the tabs for 'Habitat' and 'Tips for Control'.

Since it's a good predator and won't bother you, I would suggest you leave it alone until you move in. If by then you feel you'd like to be rid of them, you can either try and catch them and put them outdoors or knock their webs down until they leave. If that doesn't work, you will probably need to call an exterminator.

I suspect the greenish pods are their egg sacs.
